How to Fill Out a PDF Form Online Free

September 20, 2026 · 4 min read

Printing a form, filling it in by hand, photographing it on a kitchen table and emailing the result is a ritual nobody enjoys. If the form is a PDF, you can type into it instead — and it will be legible at the other end.

How to fill in a PDF form

  1. Open RizzPDF Fill PDF Form
  2. Upload the form — every field it contains is listed and highlighted on the page
  3. Type your answers, tick the checkboxes, choose from the dropdowns
  4. Download the completed form

"There are no fields to type in"

Plenty of forms — especially ones that were scanned or exported from a design program — have no interactive fields at all. They just looklike forms. Lines and boxes are drawn on the page, but there's nothing to click.

For those, use Edit PDF Text and place a text box wherever you need to write, then Sign PDF for the signature line. It takes a minute longer and beats finding a printer.

Stop your answers being edited afterwards

A filled form still has live fields: whoever opens it can change what you typed. If you're sending something that matters — a tenancy application, a claim, an HR form — flatten it first. Flattening turns your answers into part of the page, so the values become permanent and the file opens the same way everywhere.

Why not just use the form's website?

Forms are full of exactly the data you shouldn't upload

Think about what goes on a typical form: full name, date of birth, address, national insurance or social security number, bank details, medical history. RizzPDF fills the form inside your browser tab and never transmits the file, so none of that is handed to a third party in order to type it.

Practical tips

  • Fill, download, then reopen your downloaded copy to check it before sending
  • Keep an unflattened copy if you might need to correct an answer later
  • If a field refuses long text, the form's author set a character limit — abbreviate rather than fighting it
  • Flatten last, after signing, so nothing can be altered afterwards
